obsolescence: add test case B-7 for obsolescence markers exchange About 3 years ago, in August 2014, the logic to select what markers to select on push was ported from the evolve extension to Mercurial core. However, for some unclear reasons, the tests for that logic were not ported alongside. I realised it a couple of weeks ago while working on another push related issue. I've made a clean up pass on the tests and they are now ready to integrate the core test suite. This series of changesets do not change any logic. I just adds test for logic that has been around for about 10 versions of Mercurial. They are a patch for each test case. It makes it easier to review and postpone one with documentation issues without rejecting the wholes series. This patch introduce case B-7: Prune above non-targeted common changeset Each test case comes it in own test file. It help parallelism and does not introduce a significant overhead from having a single unified giant test file. Here are timing to support this claim. # Multiple test files version: # run-tests.py --local -j 1 test-exchange-*.t 53.40s user 6.82s system 85% cpu 1:10.76 total 52.79s user 6.97s system 85% cpu 1:09.97 total 52.94s user 6.82s system 85% cpu 1:09.69 total # Single test file version: # run-tests.py --local -j 1 test-exchange-obsmarkers.t 52.97s user 6.85s system 85% cpu 1:10.10 total 52.64s user 6.79s system 85% cpu 1:09.63 total 53.70s user 7.00s system 85% cpu 1:11.17 total

Phases are a system for tracking which changesets have been or should
be shared. This helps prevent common mistakes when modifying history
(for instance, with the mq or rebase extensions).
Each changeset in a repository is in one of the following phases:
- public : changeset is visible on a public server
- draft : changeset is not yet published
- secret : changeset should not be pushed, pulled, or cloned
These phases are ordered (public < draft < secret) and no changeset
can be in a lower phase than its ancestors. For instance, if a
changeset is public, all its ancestors are also public. Lastly,

How are phases managed?

For the most part, phases should work transparently. By default, a
changeset is created in the draft phase and is moved into the public
phase when it is pushed to another repository.
Once changesets become public, extensions like mq and rebase will
refuse to operate on them to prevent creating duplicate changesets.
Phases can also be manually manipulated with the :hg:`phase` command
if needed. See :hg:`help -v phase` for examples.

Normally, all servers are ``publishing`` by default. This means::
- all draft changesets that are pulled or cloned appear in phase
public on the client
- all draft changesets that are pushed appear as public on both
client and server
- secret changesets are neither pushed, pulled, or cloned

r15996 Pulling a draft changeset from a publishing server does not mark it
as public on the server side due to the read-only nature of pull.
Sometimes it may be desirable to push and pull changesets in the draft
phase to share unfinished work. This can be done by setting a
repository to disable publishing in its configuration file::

r20299 Changesets in secret phase are not exchanged with the server. This
applies to their content: file names, file contents, and changeset
metadata. For technical reasons, the identifier (e.g. d825e4025e39)
of the secret changeset may be communicated to the server.
